The 12th Hinckley Scout Group, based on the Hollycroft estate, were delighted to receive a cheque for £200 after they realised their old stock needed replacing. And now they can’t wait to start planning nights under canvas once again.
After hearing of their plight, members of the Lions club decided to help out . Club President Sue Patrick said: ‘we were only too pleased to back the youngsters and we hope the money we have given can speed up the process of buying new tents.’
Group Scout Leader Chris Peacock added: ‘we are extremely grateful to Hinckley and Burbage Lions and their generous backing and it means we can now hopefully replace some of our tents, enabling all of our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to experience life under canvas once again.’
Lions President Sue Patrick, left hands over the cheque to Chris Peacock, Group Scout Leader of the 12th Hinckley Hollycroft Scout Group, watched by the excited Beavers and their helpers.
