Two vital caring charities have been given a timely boost by Hinckley and Burbage Lions Club.
The community minded group were invited to share out the proceeds from a recent quiz at the Plough Inn in Hinckley by landlady Louise Lavender.
Once a month the venue hosts a quiz and a nominated charity group are then given the cash raised from it. The amount raised was £400 and the Lions decided that two organisations that really serve our community would benefit.
The local Air Ambulance and Community First Responders will each receive a cheque for £200 from the night.
Hinckley and Burbage Lions Club President Sue Patrick said: ‘Both charities we are giving the money to do a wonderful job in helping save lives and we felt they wold be worthy recipients.’
Landlady Louise added; ‘At the Plough we run these monthly quizzes and we felt the Lions who meet at our pub, would help distribute the proceeds to worthy causes.’
If you are interested in joining the Lions club they meet every second Monday of the month at the venue, so come along and you will be made most welcome.
