Fifty dignitaries from all over the country enjoyed drinks and appetisers on the same day that Teresa May announced the General Election.
In attendance were representatives from the armed forces, ambassadors, captains of industry and community leaders.
After networking and having their official photographs taken, guests were provided a brief tour of the one hundred room Georgian building which included several elegant state rooms and a grand staircase adorned with portraits of previous Prime Ministers.
Later, the Home Secretary, Amber Rudd, joined the reception and chatted with guests before making an inspiring speech about leadership, community cohesion and charitable work.
The highlight of the afternoon was a short meeting with the Prime Minister who took time out of her busy schedule to meet with those in attendance.
